Pitbulls are known to be one of the most loving and loyal breeds around. The only thing they want is to please their owner. Pitbulls are actually the only breed that was specifically bred to NOT be human aggressive. They are actually one of the most tolerant and highest scoring breeds tested by the American Temperament Test Society.

Here at Cajun Paws Rescue we believe it's very important to save the lives of these precious babies. All of the dogs we rescue are thoroughly temperament tested before coming into the rescue. We are very familiar with the personalities of each one of the dogs we take into our care. We believe it's very important we find FOREVER homes for our adoptable babies. We do not want adoption to ever be a temporary option. They deserve to find their happiness!

The Truth About Pit Bulls

Each year, approximately 1.2 million dogs are euthanized, and unfortunately about 40% of those euthanized are Pit Bulls. This means that approximately half a million Pit Bull-type dogs are killed in shelters annually. Of all the dog types that come through the shelters, Pit bull type dogs are by far the most likely to be euthanized. There are so many pitbull type dogs in the shelters due to overpopulation, breed specific legislation, and discrimination. Help us put an end to this discrimination and give all pitbulls the love they deserve.

Happy Tails

"Cajun Paws Rescue is a great organization that truly cares which furever homes their adoptables go! They were great with getting back to us about adoption in a timely manner, and we were surprised at how thorough they are through out the whole process! They are dedicated to making sure the animal is going to be placed in the safest environment possible and ensure the family is a perfect fit. I truly believe the harsh judgments of pitbull breeds are diminishing with each passing day! With the help and dedication of CPR the false perceptions of pitbulls will be forever changed, one life at a time! Thank you, CPR!"
